Morgan, Ayla, Katie, Jenny==> We installed the bench today! It looks fabulous and it is really noticeable against the brown building. We also chained it to a tree so it won't get stolen. Also, we saw Mr. Gallegos when we were putting it in and he is going to give us a permanent lock from the district.

Morgan ==> Today after school, I took some time to finish painting the bench and adding any finishing touches it needed.  After letting it completely dry, I loaded the bench into the back of the truck to make delivering it tomorrow morning easier and a less time consuming process.

Morgan, Katie, Ayla, Jenny==> We realized that the spot in the Hummingbird Garden where we wanted to put our bench was not the best spot for it. This was because it was on the middle school campus, and our bench was bigger than we had anticipated. Instead we settled for putting our bench on the high school campus near the Garden Room on Varsity Lane.

Katie, Jenny, Morgan, Ayla==> Today we all went to Morgan's house and painted the bench. We used two coats to the white paint Ayla bought earlier in the week. The hardest part was paintin in the small crevices between the boards. We are planning to transport the bench to the garden next Thursday. Check out the photo timeline to see how our bench turned out!

Morgan ==> Last night, I made the short trip to Jenny's house to pick up the bench.  We loaded the bench into the back of my father's truck.  I then brought it to my house where we would be painting it the next day (Friday 22).

Ayla ==> Last night, I went to Home Depot with my dad to buy some paint for the bench.  We decided on painting it white and also determined the bench's surface area is 50 square feet.  After searching around the store for a while, we decided on a can of paint that has primer included in it to cut down on the drying and painting time.

Jenny, Katie ==> Today, we began sanding the bench. We sanded it down so that there would not be any splinters when people sat on the bench. It took around twenty minutes to sand the bench down to were there were no splinters left.

Katie, Ayla, Morgan, Jenny ==> After a long break, we all met at Jenny's house to build the bench. With the help of Jenny's dad, we managed to build the bench in about five hours. It took long because we had to measure and cut out all the pieces of wood. The bench is six feet long, and it can feet up to five people on it. It looks amazing! The next step is to paint the bench white and figure out how we will put it on campus.
